What happens to my players existing Mite Team Commitment?
- As this is a supplemental league there is NO change to your child’s commitment to their existing team and they will still participate in both games and practices. As a VHL run league, potential conflicts between TSMHL and half-ice games are managed based on the roster information they have, thus conflicts are rarely an issue.
I’m interested, how do I sign-up?
- A registration link will go live shortly with a $0.00 initial sign-up fee to gauge interest in the program. This registration will be open until October 15, 2023. The coaching staff and board will review all submissions, determine viability of the team and the finalize the roster no later than October 21, 2023.
- Once announced, rostered players will be allowed to register for the team and establish payment terms for the roster fee.
Additional details about practice ice, coaching staff and other logistics surrounding this league will be announced in late October and early November once the team has been registered with TSMHL. It is expected that games will begin the first weekend of December.

2023-24 TSMHL
The half-ice game format at the Mite is an integral part of developing individual player skills in an environment that encourages critical thinking to the application of the acquired skills without creating fatigue that could limit or inhibit further development. However, for all the advantages of the half ice model, it’s use creates a knowledge gap in critical aspects of game play including positioning, team concepts, and rules that makes the transition from the Mite Level to the 10U (Squirt) level challenging.
In an effort to supplement this learning, Billerica Hockey Association is pleased to announce the creation of a full ice, supplemental mite team to compete in the TSMHL league run by VHL.
