Tryouts are held at the end of March of the current year. Teams are finalized in April. The season begins in late August and runs through March/April of the following year.

Practices
- Team practices are 2 50-minute shared ice times per week (not including High School Hockey season)
- Monthly skills sessions from September through November
Games
Games start in late September and run through late March/early April and are all held at the Hallenborg rink. Any additional tournaments may be played elsewhere if chosen to participate by the teams.
Jerseys
In-House specific jerseys and socks are provided to players to the in-house program as part of registration.
Extra Costs
Any tournament fees are typically divided by the players. Travel costs are the responsibility of the participants.

2024-25 in-house
The in-house Hockey Program targets boys and girls ages 5 to 10 with the focus on basic hockey skills and player development consistent with USA Hockey guidelines.
Practices will be held at the Hallenborg rink during the week typically at 5 PM with additional games scheduled against other in-house teams at varying times in the Hallenborg rink.
We target our teams to consist of 7 - 10 players with coaches assigned to each team. The number of teams will depend on the total number of players registered. The in-house team will use a shared-ice format with practices focusing on skating and skill development (puck handling, passing & shooting). Coaches will use small area games and competition drills will be incorporated to keep it fun for the players. Jerseys and socks will be provided for all players.
Games will be controlled scrimmages within the BHA program. Coaches will be both on-ice and on the bench to provide direction and instruction to players. The games will use the cross-ice format recommended by USA Hockey for this age group. This format allows each player to touch the puck more frequently and have more fun by getting more involved in each game. By using a smaller playing surface, players will learn skills more quickly and experience a more realistic game setting. Emphasis will be placed on good sportsmanship, team play and fun! There will be no official referees, timekeeping, score keeping or statistics.
As the season progresses, scrimmages and practices will incorporate the principles of positioning and teaching the rules of the game. Players will rotate into different positions and will have the opportunity to try goaltending using Program equipment if desired.
This season we are offering a payment plan or paying in full which gives a 5% discount automatically. The payment plan will be spread out equally for 6 months. Everyone registering must choose this payment plan or pay in full.
